Our process

How a project goes, from the first call to the walkthrough.

Most of the stress in a remodel comes from not knowing what happens next. So here's the whole thing, in order, the way it actually goes.

Serving Boise, Meridian, Eagle, Star, Kuna, Nampa, Caldwell, and the Treasure Valley, with projects in Sun Valley and McCall.

Four steps. We handle most of them.

1

Talk it through.

Call or send a quote request. We'll have a conversation to make sure the project is a fit, then set up a time to meet on site and discuss the details of your project.

2

Get it in writing.

You'll receive a proposal with every line item priced, so you can see what's behind the number.

3

Design, planning, and dates.

Together (or with one of our trusted designers) we plan every detail of your update. Once your selections are finalized, we order all materials and select a start date to begin your project.

4

Build it, walk it, enjoy it.

Day one starts with protecting your home. Pictures come off the walls in traffic areas, floors are covered, and dust walls are assembled when needed. During the project, you work with one team who shows up and leaves at the same time every day. Once the project is completed, we walk through the space detail by detail and discuss warranty coverage and care before we leave.

What happens before we show up.

Selections get settled first, because the vision decides everything else. We'll meet you at the showroom; once the vision is clear, picking tile is the easy part. Then we order every material, build cabinets if the project has them, and line up the team. Everything is on site before day one, so the job doesn't stall waiting on a box of tile.

Your house stays your house.

Having a crew in your home for a few days to a few weeks is a lot to sign up for. We know that, so we try to be easy to live with. Floors and walkways get covered from the front door to the work area. Tools live in one spot. We clean up every day before we leave, not just at the end. If you've got kids, dogs, or a work-from-home setup, tell us and we'll plan the loud parts around it.

If we open a wall and find a surprise, you'll know about it, with a price, before anyone touches it. If it changes the cost or the schedule, you'll see that clearly explained and in writing before we go ahead.

Tile is the last thing we do.

Every project we complete starts the same way. Before any tile goes in, we make sure the surfaces behind it are flat, plumb, and square. Showers get a properly sloped pan and a full waterproofing system. Floors get prepped so they won't flex or crack. Layouts are planned in advance. The prep work may disappear behind the tile, but the feel of a perfect installation never does.

Cleaned, inspected, walked.

Before we hand your space back, we go over our own work with a fine-tooth comb, so you don't have to. Our cleaning technician is the last to arrive. She deep cleans every area we touched or even walked through. Then we walk the project with you, detail by detail, and go over warranty and care before we leave.

Questions people ask.

Do I need to pick the grout up front?

No. We recommend getting the tile up first, because it changes the feel of the room. Then we bring all the grout colors in and help you make the best choice with the real tile on the wall. What looks good in the showroom doesn't always serve the space once the tile is installed.

Do I need to be home?

Not every day. We'll need you for selections, the walkthrough, and any surprise that needs a decision. The rest of the time, we just show up and work.

What if something changes mid-project?

You'll hear about it with a price, before anyone touches it. Changes to cost or schedule are explained and put in writing before we go ahead.

How do you handle dust?

Dust walls where needed, floors covered, daily cleanup, and a cleaning technician at the end of every remodel project.

What's the warranty?

Every project is covered by our 2-year workmanship warranty, and enrolled in manufacturer lifetime warranties where applicable. We go over your coverage at the walkthrough.

P.S. Next time you're in a hotel or a friend's bathroom, look at the grout. Cracked, crumbling, or stained dark in the corners is what a rushed install looks like a few years in. Once you see it, you can't unsee it.
